SFMOMA exhibition, How Wine Became Modern, uses EnVino Bottles to showcase the future of wine.

The San Francisco Museum of Modern art is currently presenting How Wine Became Modern: Design + Wine 1976 to Now. The exhibition presents the modern, global wine culture through works of art, multimedia presentations and informative text.

The exhibition is divided into distinct thematic environments such as Terrior, Images of Place, Smell and Words and Vineyard Tourism. EnVino Bottles are featured in the Modern Production section. Both Outdoor Vino by Naked Winery in Oregon and Beringer White Zinfandel by Treasury Wine Estates in California, are bottled in EnVino Bottles.

Curator Henry Urbach explains, “We have gathered these artifacts to mark out the rich visual and material culture of wine and to suggest the beliefs and aspirations they represent. Many of these objects did not exist and were unimaginable thirty years ago. Yet, in recent years, wine – unique among comestibles – has produced an extraordinary array of cultural effects; this exhibition is the first to explore it.”
